Work Dress Codes

My old boss set a standardized dress code for the entire office that was basically “no bathing suits”.  Anything else was ok to wear.  We wore flip flops, shorts, jeans with holes in them, sweatshirts, sweatpants, I think one girl may have even come in wearing her pajamas.  It was a great environment for me to work in considering most of my wardrobe consisted of jeans, shorts, and t-shirts.  I saved a lot of money not having to spend it on fancy clothing, belts, shoes, and ties.  Unfortunately, one day she decided to change the dress code to something more business casual which meant some of us, me mostly, had to go out and pickup new clothes.  Like I said I had mostly t shirts as my shirt wardrobe.  I still have all the t-shirts since I could wear them underneath a dress shirt or under a polo.  I have moved on to a new company and now sometimes will even wear just a plain t-shirt from my collection or maybe one of the less offensive shirts with a witty quote on it.
